Today's sites are a few other shopping sites online that offer miles or some type of rewards points for purchases! Along with sites like SkyMall and Delta SkyMiles Shopping and other airline-specific shopping sites, they have thousands of retailers, so it should be possible to get points on almost anything you need to purchase!

Flyer Miles Site of the Day-- HeroMiles.Org, AirCompassionForVeterans.org
Today I came across two new charitable organizations that take donations of frequent flyer miles to help our Armed Forces and Veterans:
http://www.heromiles.org/ (certain airlines are matching donations 1-to-1 until Memorial Day!)
http://www.aircompassionforveterans.org/donate/57 (US Airways Dividend Miles only)
This goes along with my previous post about the Make-A-Wish foundation where you can donate miles to make the wishes of terminally ill children come true. http://www.wish.org/help/donate_airline_miles
What wonderful ways to put flyer miles to use! Even if you're not a frequent flyer, you can always sign up for free frequent flyer programs and donate your miles--what a simple way to do much good!

Flyer Mile Site of the Day: Get Miles to Pay Taxes!
Dreading paying Uncle Sam? Why not at least find a tiny reason to smile about it!
If you use any credit card that earns frequent flyer miles, you can put your tax bill on your credit card and earn miles! Depending on your card's rewards, you can earn around 1-2 miles for every dollar! Chase United's card is even offering a special double mileage promotion just for putting your IRS, state or property taxes on their card: www.chasepayyourtaxes.com/united.
Why not find a way to get at least a small bit of satisfaction forking over your hard-earned money?

Flyer Mile Site of the Day: E-Miles.com
Don't mind filling out a quick, mindless marketing survey, all in the name of travel rewards?
Then e-miles.com may be just for you!
Sign up and they will e-mail you with earning opportunities roughly once a week. Personally, I wish this site gave more opportunities to earn miles quicker, but it's a decent and simple enough way to earn a few hundred miles here and there. Of course, I'll take it!

Flyer Mile Site of the Day: DeltaMilesforMoving.com
Moving anytime soon?
http://www.deltamilesformoving.com/
Delta Airlines has partnered with a international one-stop-shop relocation company that offers real estate, mortgage, and moving services-- and allows you to earn points on moving costs! If you use their full range of services, it can earn you 155,000 points! While I myself am a partial to the hometown bank and friendly local real estate agent, I find this very intriguing. After all, 155,000 points is more than enough for two roundtrip tickets to Asia . . . Even if you do not want to use their real estate and mortgage options, you can earn up to 5,000 points by using their wide range of moving services!

Flyer Mile Sites of the Day: Points.com, Wish.org
Have you ever thought that you shouldn't join a frequent flyer program because, well, you're not really a frequent flyer? Or have you been deterred because you don't always fly on the same airlines for each trip but just shop for the best deal? I myself thought this for years, and now feel a bit queasy thinking of all the miles I could have earned even from infrequent trips!
One new exciting site I found is www.points.com. Let's say you have 3,000 miles from a trip to Europe on US Air. Let's say you don't plan on flying US Air all that frequently but usually fly, say, Northwest (soon to be Delta). Should you just chalk those miles up to a loss? Not anymore!
Points.com allows you to swap points from one program to another! So you can take those US Air points and swap them right on over to your NorthWest WorldPerks account or your Delta SkyMiles account. As a disclaimer, I have not done a swap yet to see how it transfers and what the rate is, but I think it certainly looks promising! There are many programs you can transfer between to actually get a benefit from these trips.
Of course, if you don't want the hassle of all this or aren't trying to accumulate frequent flyer miles, sign up for free for the plan anyway, especially if you're going on a long flight to somewhere. You can do something even better and donate them to the Make A Wish Foundation, which uses people's donated miles to help make terminally ill children's dreams come true! So don't let your miles go to waste--there's something wonderful that can come of your travel if you just take a minute! http://www.wish.org/help/donate_airline_miles
